Not just an effective bowler, but one whose run up and action anyone could recognise in the dark. His career spanned The Beatles, the Bay City Rollers, Meatloaf and Bonnie Tyler.

Was a very effective bowler for a long time ... played for Kent for 24 years
Basically bowled a touch under medium pace and very effective on drying wickets
Two most famous performances would have been the 1968 Ashes test mentioned below on a drying wicket that helped England draw the series and the 1972 Headingley test when mysteriously FUSERIAM killed all the grass on a normally lively wicket to put England 2-1 ahead with one to play to retain the Ashes.
